I was born in Tijuana, Baja California, Mexico. I studied Industrial Engineering and obtained a Master's in Computer Science from the Tijuana Technology Institute. Later, I completed my Ph.D. at the Universidad Autónoma de Baja California in Mexico.

I work as a Full Professor at the Chemistry and Engineering School at the Universidad Autonóma de Baja California in Mexico. My primary areas of expertise include computer science, software engineering and engineering management, and I teach these subjects to undergraduate and graduate students.

I am also a member of the Researcher National System (SNI) of the National Council for the Humanities, Sciences, and Technologies (CONAHCYT) in Mexico. Complexity and computational science are my main interests.

As the leader of the "Complexity and Computation" academic group, I am responsible for coordinating the "Computational Modelling and Complex Systems" academic collaboration network.
