I was born in Tijuana, Baja California, México. I studied Industrial Engineering, and I obtained a Master's degree in Computer Science at Tijuana Technology Institute. I received Ph.D. at Universidad Autónoma de Baja California in México.

I'm currently a Full Professor at Chemistry and Engineering School at the Universidad Autonóma de Baja California in México, where I teach computer sciences and software engineering in graduate and undergraduate academic programs.

I'm a member of the Researcher National System (SNI) of the National Council for Science and Technology (CONACYT) in México.

I'm the "Complexity and computation" academic group leader and the coordinator of the "Computational modeling and complex systems" academic collaboration network.
